Our Story
About Coming Up For AirCounseling Ministries
A journey to healing, hope, and renewed purpose through faith
The Beginning
A Journey to Healing and Ministry
In 2011, I walked into Ashland Theological Seminary carrying a heavy burden and feeling completely overwhelmed. At that point in my life, I felt as though I was drowning, constantly longing for relief and desperately hoping to come up for air.

I kept telling myself, "If I could just come up for air, I would be OK." This sense of struggle and desperation stayed with me as the years passed.
"If I could just come up for air, I would be OK."
Transformation
Finding Strength and Transformation
I realized that I had become the person I once needed when I first arrived—someone who was no longer gasping for air but instead breathing freely and filled with renewed life.

This powerful realization made me grateful that I was no longer drowning but had been healed and restored.
As graduation approached, I found myself reflecting on my journey and thanking God for providing the strength I needed to persevere. In that moment, God reminded me of how far I had come.
Finding Strength
2012
Birth of Coming Up for Air Counseling Ministries
Motivated by my own transformation, I felt called to help others who might feel as I once did—overwhelmed and in search for hope. In 2012, I founded Coming Up for Air Counseling Ministries, following God's guidance to create ministries instead of just a single ministry.
God assured me that there would be multiple ministries, and I chose to be obedient to that vision.
